Product Description
Improve the look and sound of virtually any DVD with the HT-Z520 Home Theater System. An HDMI connection upconverts DVDs to near-1080p, so they become instantly crisper and clearer on an HDTV. The HDMI input with PCM Multi-Channel Audio captures every note. HDMI input for set-top box, game system or 5.1 channel camcorder recreates them in full surround sound. Enhancing the audio ambiance, Auto Sound Calibration (ASC) balances the output from each speaker for optimal sound reproduction in any room. And thanks to front and center speaker cones made with green" high-density, bio kelp fibers, all types of music are delivered with clearer sound and less distortion for high quality performance. It also comes with a rear wireless speaker module which eliminates the need to run wires from the front to the back of the room." * HDMI input with multi-channel audio support * Wireless Rear included * USB host with CD ripping * iPod dock with video, audio + iphone support * KELP cone front and center speakers * Auto Sound Calibration * Energy Star * Net Dimensions: 16.93" x 2.95" x 16.89" * Net Weight: 129.45 lbs. * Design and specifications are subject to change without notice. Overall satisfied April 14, 2010 D_Simm (San Antonio, TX) This is a great home theater system. Only drawback is the remote rear speakers. The left and right speakers still have wires connected to a remote box so I will have to deal with wiring for one of the speakers. I really wish they would have the remote sensor on each speaker to give it a true remote wireless rear speaker system as it was advertised.
Great sound in a small box! February 1, 2010 Richard J. Polney 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The sound is excellent and was fairly easy to set up. We purchased it to be compatible with our Samsung tv and having an updated remote is a big plus. Now we don't have to switch remotes to get what we want. DVD and CD use is easy. Big bang for the buck! Only con - no return to previous channel button.
good value for the price! January 30, 2010 Scott Fisher (carlisle, pa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Good 5.1 sound when connected to a set top box via digital optical cable. Get a harmony remote to go with it, even when connected to a samsung lcd.
Great for the Price January 7, 2010 P. Archer (Redding, CA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nice Little system for the price. I am under no illusions that for a few thousand more there are much better sounding sytems but for 300 dollars this is a good value. Setup was fairly easy. I really like the rear wireless module it saves having to try and run wires all over the house. It does make a buzzing noise, but you only hear it if the sound is very low. the upconverting dvd player works great. One small issue wish it had more digital audio inputs as this seems to be the only way to get surround sound for your satalite box, ps3 or bluray.
Annoying Fan Noise from Rear Speakers December 19, 2009 Steven Goodman (Phila,PA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently bought the Samsung 522 system because it had wireless speakers and 1200W. Unfortunately, after I had it all together and watched several movies, I realized the fan in the rear speakers kept changing its pitch and volume. When no sound was being transmitted to the surround sound speakers, I could hear the fan motor roaring which distracted from the movie. After two days of this, I had had enough. I returned the system. I googled it and realized other people had the same problem. If samsang can resolve this problem, it's a great product.
