This device performed better than expected and I'm very pleased with all facets: the shipping - arrived early, the product was easy to set up and the DVD quality is eye-popping. All in all, it was everything I expected, and I'm pleased with the purchase.

The Polk SurroundBar speaker system is compact and easy to install. The sound it produces is better than the TV's internal speakers and not as good as a $$$ full-on multiple-$peaker $ystem. For me, it's an acceptable compromise.

Sound is ok but still need to hook up my bass. Also, need to read manual and tweak it for better sound with movies.
Sure beats monitor speakers.

Amazon- Thanks for this wonderful sound system at a great price. Only issue for me is that it's not real stable on anything other than floor or mounted on the wall, with risk of falling or other damage. Otherwise, I like the flexability of its use.

Update!!! 3 weeks after using the surroundbar, we heard a couple of loud "pops" and the sound was gone...forever. The right side of the bar was warm too the touch with a burned smell inside. I called Polk's customer service line the next business day. The guy said he had heard of one other instance of this. 2 days later I had UPS shipping labels emailed to me to send the unit back. I had to scrounge up boxes & packing materials as we had not kept the original packaging -a pain. The next day, I dropped the boxes off at UPS. One day later, I received at shipping notification that a new unit was on the way. We received it in less than a week and it's up and working now. Hopefully, this one won't do the same thing. I'm keeping the boxes, though, just in case. I'm very impressed with Polk's customer service and speeding delivery of a new unit (less than 2 weeks in all). I would buy from them again.
We recently moved and were looking for a new stereo receiver, dvd player (so we could move our olde dvd/vhs combo unit to another room) and improved sound for our 42" lcd tv. The room is a keeping room/small den, very open to the kitchen, with a vaulted ceiling, and no room for the 5-7 speakers in a home theater system. The Polk Surrondbar360 fit the bill perfectly. Since the soundbar sits in front of the tv (which sits on a cabinet), we wanted a separate dvd/receiver. The height of some other soundbars would block the tv screen and would require us raise the tv too much. Note--We did opt to buy a monitor stand which elevates the tv about 4 1/2 inches, which is the height of the soundbar. Hookups were relatively straight forward and the sound is great. We may add a separate sub-woofer later. Very pleased with the purchase.
